WHY NDINDI NYORO BELIEVES THAT KENYANS ARE MAD WITH PRESIDENT UHURU KENYATTA

BY Simon Kahara

Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro has castigated President Uhuru Kenyatta for what he describes as poisoning Kenyans against ODM Raila Odinga during the general elections and later letting Mr Odinga enjoying the fruits of Jubilee government.
The unapologetic Dr William Ruto lieutenant says Kenyans are extremely mad against the President who used all sorts of names against Mr Odinga including and not limited to calling Mr Odinga a mad man in 2017 and three years later letting Mr Odinga enjoy the fruits of Uhuruto government and seemingly controlling the ruling Jubilee party.
Speaking about the impending Cabinet reshuffle in a move touted to incorporate Mr Odinga’s ODM wing into the government, Mr Nyoro said the President was free to incorporate him into the government warning that if Mr Kenyatta continued misgoverning the country, he would be remembered for that.
“If Uhuru decides to incorporate Mr Odinga its okey but Kenyans are very made because he (Uhuru) poisoned Kenyans that Mr Odinga was a mad man but he is now enjoying the fruits of the government he never fought for,” he told journalists on Wednesday at Kiawambeu village in Kiharu Constituency.

Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro on May 6 at Kiawambeu village during inspection of Kiawambeu chief's camp which was built from scratch. He said Kenyans are mad at Uhuru for inciting them against Raila Odinga only for him to wine and dine with him three years later

Mr Nyoro attributed Jubilee woes to Mr Odinga who he claimed has been using the party’s Secretary General Raphael Tuju to disorient the party to destroy its structures, objectives and vision of the country in efforts to curtail Dr Ruto’s 2022 Presidential bid at the pleasure of Mr Odinga.
He claimed the Kieleweke wing of Jubilee party has gone ahead to register a political party The National Unity (TNU) which will field Mr Odinga and a section of Jubilee party once their mission of destroying the ruling party is accomplished.
“Here is their game plan, Mr Odinga to use Mr Tuju to destroy Jubilee party so that Dr Ruto’s Presidential bid is disoriented, once they are through, they run into TNU which is former PNU party. But I want to advise them that very soon, we shall wake up and defend the party since it does not belong to the simple few but for all members regardless of their stature in the society,” he said adding that their rejoinder will be messy.
He said Jubilee party has been performing dismally in its second time for incorporating Mr Odinga who he associated with bad luck in all his undertakings.

MP Ndindi Nyoro said a time is coming when they shall respond to Jubilee woes and that theirs will be messy

“Mr Odinga is the father of misfortunes and violence, he started disorienting his father and now he is doing it in Jubilee now, the programs such as the electrification and others,” he said.

MARIBE MWANGI ACCUSES MURANGA POLITICIAN WITH 'FAKE NEWS' THAT DAUGHTER JACKIE MARIBE IS VYING FOR WOMEN REP POST

My daughter is not vying for the women Rep post in 2022, Maribe Mwangi, father to former Citizen Tv has announced.

While calling on Kenyans and the people of Muranga to treat the news as rumours, the Kiharu politician and business man has directed the rumour, that her daughter was salivating for the Women rep post, to a certain politician who he says has been 'pretending' to be their family friend.

According to Mr Maribe, the decision for Jacque Maribe to vie for the women rep or any other post can not be made in the streets.

Mr Maribe who is an active social media user has also traded guns to a popular Muranga WhatsApp adminstrator who he describes as  'Murang'a County Siren' peddling rumours by circulating 'fake news ' in various whatsup groups.

"I  wish to state that this an absolute lie being peddled by a certain leader from Murang'a who has always pretended to be a family friend. In any case, such a monumental decision cannot be announced in the streets of Gachocho rural village," Mr Maribe says.

Mr Maribe has been a close and caring father to daughter Jacque who is facing murder charges in High court dismissing the allegations and maintaining that her daughter is innocent.

We are behind our KTDA, Tea Farmers

Patrick Muthoni a tea farmer. He says tea farmers are not privy to the regulations by the Ministry of Agriculture and wants the government to involve them before implementing the them

Herman Wanyoike says they are behind the KTDA and not Cs Peter Munya's regulations which he termed as unrealistic

A section of tea farmers in Kangema Muranga have opposed the regulations by Ministry of Agriculture and have raised fears that the regulation may block their fortunes.

The farmers also claim the regulations were done with utmost secrecy and that they were not involved when coming up with the directives and they want CS Peter Munyaka to halt the implementation of the same so that they may get a chance to give their inputs.

Speaking at Kiarathe village in Kangema led by farmers Washington Mwangi, Patrick Muthoni among others, the farmers fear that the regulations may affect the day to day running of the factories and limit the amount of money they get due to some 'unrealistic' regulations like the leasing of lorries to ferry tea among others.

Herman Nyoike said the regulations by the Ministry require each of the factory to have at least 250 acres under tea and tree plantations a move, that according to Wanyoike may see closure of some factories who only ha e between 30 to 40 acres of land with tea.

“Almost all factories like the Kanyenya ini tea factory have between 30 to 40 acres and with the new law, they may be forces to either call it quit or buy more lands, and you know what, factories are owned by farmers not KTDA," he said.

He said there is need for the Ministry of Agriculture to call for a meeting with KTDA which is a major player in the sector for a forum to help streamline the sector.

Patrick Muthoni urged the government to   circulate the regulations, to enable them make an informed decision instead of farmers depending on the media briefs.

“Two weeks after the regulations were issued majority of the growers and especially the aged are yet to understand them.  Many have heard them through the media, thus need for efforts to have them interpreted in local languages,” said Muthoni.

Last week, another group led by Wambugu Gachunji of Karurumo village supported the regulations as they proposed more changes.

The group has also proposed for reduction of the management fee to 1.5 percent from 2.5 percent.

The ministry has proposed the management fee be reduced from 2.5 percent to two percent

WORLD PRESS FREEDOM DAY: CASES OF JOURNALISTS ATTACK ON THE RISE WITH 22 CASES RECORDED BETWEEN MARCH AND APRILL 2020

ARTICLE 19 EASTERN AFRICA, an lobby group which defends the rights of journalists has announced that there are 22 cases of violence against journalists while on duty in Kenya between May 2019 and April 2020.

The group which also trains journalists im various aspects of media sector says there are documented cases of attacks, harassment, intimidation rising to
59 from 53 in 2019.

Article 19 says attacks on journalists increased significantly in the first quarter of 2020 with
recorded cases reaching 36, at the height of Coronavirus pandemic
across the country. Of the 36 cases recorded, 22 violations took place
between March and April, barely two months following the government’s
announcement of the first case of COVID 19 on March 12 in Kenya.

"This constitutes 37 per cent of the total violations during the monitoring period.
These attacks were carried out by security agents, government officials, and
organised mobs - including primary school pupils in a manner that clearly
demonstrates a sustained effort to stifle and control the press, and limit the free
flow of information in 22 Counties.

The group says Nairobi region recorded the highest violations with
13 incidents, followed by Mombasa with 6 and Turkana witnessing 4 cases.
Other 19 counties recorded between 3 and 1 cases each.

" As the journalists around the globe marks the World Press Freedom Day under
the theme of Journalism Without Fear and Favour reporting about the
coronavirus health crisis, corruption and the 2022 succession politics are the
most sensitive stories for journalists to cover in 2020 in Kenya.

Attacks at the county levels continued to increase as journalists have been denied access to
information or news venues to provide objective and critical reporting on the
Counties’ development progress, their response preparedness to the
pandemic and the shaping local politics.
“An independent media is crucial for Kenya’s ability to achieve her
development agenda including the efforts to contain the raging pandemic
and its watchdog role of ensuring that those in power are being held to
account, said Mugambi Kiai, ARTICLE 19 Eastern Africa, Regional Director.

“A free press cannot thrive in an environment in which journalists are constantly
under severe and constant attack: this undermines freedom of expression, and
democracy, in the country.

Despite filing complaints with police cases of attacks and threats against
journalists are rarely investigated. Of the 59 violations recorded by ARTICLE 19,
only one case involving a non-state actor has been investigated with the
perpetrators subsequently being taken to court. This is a mere 1% rate of
effective investigation, suggesting a high level of impunity regarding attacks
on journalists.

“Failure to bring those responsible for attacks on journalists to account sends
the signal that the media can be silenced through violence, and will ultimately
lead to many journalists resorting to self-censorship, hampering the realisation
of the right to free expression. The government must take the necessary steps
to ensure that journalists are free to carry out their work, Mugambi said.

ARTICLE 19 calls on the Kenyan government to uphold freedom of the media
and to end attacks on journalists carrying out their work. The government must
work to create an enabling environment for journalists to carry out their duties,
without threat of attack or criminalisation
