Exclusive: Why Wa Iria Mutua Sonko Joho Targeted by National Integrity Alliance

Moments after an umbrella body for NGOS, National Integrity Alliance, announced what they called 'RedCards' for some Aspirants with an intention of barring them to contest their election and reelection bid, Kenyans have given their mixed reaction on these Non Governmental Organisations

A source close to NGO Operations in Nairobi had these to say.

"Transparency international world over is funded by special interest groups among them business men who lobby for government deals Kenya is no exception

Kenya chapter of transparency international is no exception as for years it has been on payroll of wealthy businessmen during Nyayo,Kibaki and Now Uhuru Government"

Talking exclusively on KK online News a source says that since inception of devolution the bodies have now shifted to Counties not to fight corruption but for their own interests. "Counties have become a very major areas of investment especially with struggle for natural resources" he paused.

PARTNERING WITH VESTED INTERESTS GROUPS

Our source who spoke to us on condition of anonymity for fear of victimization believe that these Ngos have been approached by various special interest group's to start a bismerching campaigns against leaders who are seen to be stumbling block to exploration and exploitation of this resources.

"Example is Machakos which has billions of tonnes of Coal That can be used to generate power.

Kitui Coal Basin in Mui where investors are struggling to get coal to feed various coal installations projected for development

Mombasa has trillions of cubic natural gas and billions of fossil fuels underneath Indian Ocean

Murang'a county with nearly capacity to produce more than 1000 Megawatts in hydro energy, ithanga and Kakuzi hills with capacity to generate thousands of wind energy of megawatts

Other Counties are Homa bay due to Wealth in the Lake Victoria Marine wealth"

He believes that Investors are on war with Governors who are not pro business by using NGOs against wishes of residents by tainting them corrupt.

It is in light of the above that he says these groups  in various country have either been arrested, deported or declared persona non grata for subversive activities.

On her part Judy Waitherero, A Governance and Policy expert wondered where the group have been for the last 4 years alluding that the group could be seeking relevance and existence.

She also questioned the seriousness of these groups for not focusing on all levels of society, "We recently had about Gecaga and Muhoho without mentioning the case that Deputy President William Ruto had with an Uasin Gishu resident for land grabbing why aren't they yelling about them?

These guys know that in Kenya, deliberations on matters with a legal angle take time. they were aware in 2014 that elections will be held in 2017/2018. why did they wait to contact the IEBC and even the Political parties to recommend that those candidates would not feature in the Nominations?" Judy said.

John Maina a politician read malice in the announcement of the National Integrity Alliance. "They present a list that 'was informed by reports from credible institutions and we have looked at the cases that are active in court' unfortunately, many of the issues reported as justifying inclusion on the list, are NOT active in court. are these activists on a mission to tarnish the good names of select individuals?  we note that most these leading "activists" are paid directly or indirectly by foreigners and they primarily belong to a certain tribe. and it is,said that in kenya, politics is tribal at times, reports from "credible institutions" are (subjectively) found to be wanting."

Kiprotich Kirwa told KK online News that What the Alliance was doing was an exercise in futility. "Chapter six is very clear, unless you have been convicted of a crime and have exhausted all avenues for appeal you cannot be barred from running for office. This is a very high threshold and rightfully so, to ensure that one's political aspirations are not thwarted by frivolous and malicious allegations and lawsuits. If we are to have people of integrity in office, the voters have to reject people with questions on their integrity. Using the courts to bar aspirants will not work"
He said.

The Alliance body has recommended to IEBC to reject the following candidates.
Evans Kidero Nrb Governor
Mike Sonko foe Nrb Governor
Baba Yao Waititu For Kiambu Governor
Mwangi wa Iria Muranga Governor
Ann Waiguru for Kirinyaga Governor
Among others.
Ali Hassan Joho Mbs Governor

Houghton Irungu the Oxfam Pan-fried Afric Director during happy times.

END OF THE ROAD: Wa Iria's Win Is Legitimate - High Court

Governor Mwangi wa Iria has all the reasons to smile after the High Court this evening ruled that His win was legitimate.

The case had been filed by Kigumo Mp Hon Jamleck Kamau and his supporters challenging The Jubilee party primaries outcomes.

Kamau has argued that the ruling party used IEBC register contrary to Political parties guidelines citing cases of multiple voting as evidence.

Kamau carried the day at Milimani law courts after the judge ruled on his favour but Wa Iria and Jubilee lawyers rushed to high court where the appealed.

The following day however Kamau shocked many of his supporters when he declared that his would not participate in a repeat Nominations saying that he knew he would be rigged out.

This however did not prevent him through his lawyer, to plead with the high Court to reject Wa Iria's appeal and that of the new evidence that was brought before the Court on the register.

This moved pegged the question "Why did Kamau sue the Jubilee party and Wa Iria if indeed he would not participate in a repeat of nominations"? To play victim? To confuse the party not to concentrate on the case so that in future a resident would challenge Wa Iria's win In a court of law creating a loophole for a by elections?

The game, hullabaloo and the legal tussle has come to an end this evening after the High Court has overturned the ruling by Political Parties Dispute Tribunal ordering the Jubilee Party to conduct fresh nominations for the Governorship in Murang'a County.

In the verdict, the court has held that Governor Mwangi Wa Iria's victory was valid as the exercise was freely and fairly done.

All eyes are now looking and waiting for Kamau's next move as he has become a man of many surprises.

Will he hold a presser and announce whether or not he is satisfied on the Court verdict? Now that Wa Iria's win has been legitimized by a Court of law, will he join the Muranga Jubilee Nominees and campaign together as is expected? Only time will tell.

Agony And Depressed: Political Orphans Narrate Their Tales, Muranga

The wise men once said Majority has their say whole Minority has their way. The statement However is easier mentioned than said if you are not in the shoes of the Victim.

It's after the elections and nominations that Media houses usually concentrate on the winner asking what they feel, their future political careers and their assurance to the electorates.(They only cover Losers in case of litigations and objecting results)

Howevee KK online News has decided not only to interview Muranga leaders who lost during the Jubilee party primaries but also to their ardent followers who believed and danced to their Master's tune.
A lady who called KK online News with an aim of clearing rumours that she said had been circulating, said that although her boss lost in the Party primaries, 'She had invested alot when she was in the office. She stated that in a span of 5 years she had gone to College, made more than enough connections that will go along way in moulding her future.
"There are baseless rumours going around that now that there is likelihood that my boss might not be in office by next year, I and my fellow workmates will go back to our village, Let it be clearly noted that I'm not a fool. I utilized my time and resources well and I can't regret for that," a 27 year old lady said.
She also said that her workmates have improved their lifestyles noting a friend who she said had built a mansion after he secured a job from a politician who lost during the Jubilee party primaries.
She told off 'Her haters" who she accused of being too nosey and asked them to stop meddling in her affairs. Some of those yapping have never gone past Nairobi, I have been to several Countries courtesy of my boss, Tanzania, Uganda Jerusalem to mention just but a few"
Another political orphan whose boss also lost had a different view. "Life will be very difficult for me, my 'General' used to treat us, he took us to big hotels, he could give us stipend and even free airtime to communicate and to 'deal'with our opponents in whatsapp groups and Facebook"
She told KK online News that she is yet to come to terms that her preferred choice lost because that affected her future life. 'Can you imagine someone giving you Ksh 200,000 to stage manage a demo so that our opponent could look bad? I would spend ksh 40,000 and keep the rest.

A Gentleman from Kiharu said that he had been promised a huge favour by the politician. He sadly said that he had used his resources since he believed that he would have been rewarded heavily.

However those who talked to KK online confided that their boss would not rest until he bring down his opponent. "We will be meeting next week to discuss the way forward and even before the next general elections we might be in power, Our boss will be telling us how"

KK online News has established that as a method to console themselves, a bunch of losers have come up with this text message that has been circulating in social media platforms.

""The Slow movement of a lion does not show weakness or tiredness but rather calculated steps to get it's prey, never bother how fast people are moving. Move at your own pace and trust God to see you through. Remember its not how fast you build your house but its how firm and strong your house will be when the storm comes."

KK online News will be closely monitoring the group and whether the meaning of the above statement will be implemented.
