DISPUTE: Murang'a resident Writes To IEBC Over Moses Mwangi Candidature

A protracted legal tussle is looming after a Murang'a resident wrote to IEBC challenging Dr Moses Mwangi's Candidature.

The resident urgues that Mwangi, an ordained priest,  contravened the law after he shifted from Jubilee party, to Maendeleo Chap Chap and then to Mzalendo Saba Saba party.

"This is in simple terms Party hopping which is illegal, the IEBC should nullify Moses Mwangi's candidature since he has offended the law," the resident has written.

Mwangi defected from Jubilee party in the eve of Nominations on grounds that he had reliable information that The Jubilee party would not conduct free, fair and transparent exercise.

This was on 20th April this year. Two weeks later, Moses contacted KK online News in a jovial mood to announce his New political outfit, Maendeleo Chap Chap which is owned by Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua.

Moses had said that he had made up his mind and settled to Maendeleo Chap Chap because it was a Friendlier party to Jubilee having convened a National Delegates Convention and endorsed The reelection bid for Uhuru Kenyatta.

A week later His name would be listed as a Murang'a Gubernatorial Aspirant with a Village political outfit Mzalendo Saba Saba party.

However when asked why he hopped he denied having been in possession of a Maendeleo chap chap certificate. "I have never been in Maendeleo Chap Chap, I resigned from Jubilee party and joined Mzalendo Saba Saba party," Moses told Journalists after he received his clearance from The IEBC offices at Mukuyu.

Governor Mwangi wa Iria is also facing legal battles after Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission recommended nullification of his candidature over graft claims.

We will be following closely what will transpire for the two candidates.
