"Our Honorary Diocesan Chancellor and Chairman of the Electoral College Mr Kimani Kairu and your team, the electoral College, My Lord Bishops, the clergy, Christians of the Diocese of Mt Kenya Central and all present. Praise the Lord.

I want to say that for me this is a very humbling issue. I'm deeply humbled by this great challenge of being elected the 4th Diocesan Bishop of the Diocese of Mt Kenya Central. My family, My wife Esther in absentia but joining us soon, my daughters Salome and Dorris who recently moved to the United States of America to continue with their studies (I had a nice time together during part of my annual leave which is ending today) and my son Alex definitely join me in thanking you for showing confidence that you believe I will be able to serve as the Diocesan Bishop.

I would like to take this earliest to thank his Grace the Arch Bishop Rt. Rev Jackson Ole Sapit for his tireless efforts in ensuring the Diocese had elections
The "Second Election Journey" started from Diocesan Synod held on 4th Feb 2017 which he personally chaired. The process has finally culminated in election of the 4th Diocesan Bishop
His determined impartial and assertive approach coupled with love and understanding will forever be cherished by Christians of this Diocese and we together wish him God's blessings and interventions in all his endeavours as he leads the Anglican Church Of Kenya.

I cannot forget the prayer teams that spent their time agonising over and interceding for this process. This is what prayers can do. I pray the spirit of prayer continue in this Diocese. One instance of the prayer Is the graceful acceptance to restart the Bishopric election process right from the local churches after the direction to do so by the Provincial office. It has not been an easy road but God remained faithful. The Bible tell us to continue praying without CEASING.

Ven John with his wife Mama Mwangi Ven Wilson and Mama Dennis are my colleagues in this Diocese. We have come along way as friends in this Diocese. I appreciate that they not only offered their Candidatures but the three of us were recommended by the Search Committee held on May 6th 2017. I applaud their concession with humility and appreciation. Lets join hands to serve this great Diocese.

I believe this is not my Victory but the Lords Victory. This could not have been humanly possible because deliberate, Frequent and Aggressive efforts to block the process have been done since we started the process BUT i believe we all need to accept and come to the reality of God's will. Brethren God works mysteriously as Paul reminds us in Romans 8:28 when he says "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him who have been called according to His purpose" although God's ways may seem to be mysterious and unfathomable at times, we can rest confidently that they are higher than our ways. I therefore take this responsibility with humility.

Now that we have come to an end of lobbying, Jostling and praying for the preferred Candidates, let us now join hands to serve this great Diocese. A Diocese with a great history of Spirituality. It is therefore with profound thanksgiving to God and the Church that I will serve with dedication and with all my strength and with God's help.

As I conclude, let us pray that our Diocese will grow from strength to strength. To achieve this, it is my humble appeal that all of us MUST BE COMMITTED TO OUR CALLING. let us persue peace, forgiveness and reconciliation as we pray for one another so that we may move on.We must do our best to advance unity, we must work together and be seen working together. Somebody wisely said that if you want to walk fast walk alone but if you want to go far walk together with others.

Now to him who is able to keep us from falling and to present is faultless before the presence of his groly and exceeding joy to god our Savior who alone is wise be the groly and majesty dominion and power both now we'd forever amen Jude 24 25

BREAKING NEWS: Diocese Of Mt Kenya Central Gets New Bishop

After several Months of Court battles over who should be nominated by the Search Committee to vie for the Bishop post for Diocese of Mt Kenya Central, the Church has now a new Bishop Elect Ben Timothy Gicere

The milestone step that had proven to be an uphill task has been achieved after the two main Contestants Ven Wilson Burugu and Ven John Miano stepped down in favour of Ven Gichere.

It took the intervention of Arc Bishop Rev Jackson Ole Sapit who requested that the case that had been taken to Court be withdrawn to pave way for dialogue and Consultation.

Adressing the congregation, Burugu and Miano said that their decision was not because of intimidation neither was it because of A Memorandum of Understanding.

In his acceptance speech the new Bishop Elect Ven Timothy Gicere, has affirmed that he was equal to the task citing that he would work closely with the Church to spread the gospel

He termed the Court litigations that had derailed the process as baseless.
