REVEALED: SPONSORS OF MURANG’A WARS UNMASKED

FACEBOOK: KK ONLINE NEWS

Murang'a County Assembly have been having wrangles since November last year, when they stormed the clerk's office with an aim of evicting him and recently when a faction hired goons to fight two of them and a Jubilee party official.

If you thought they were genuine you are absolutely wrong.

They stormed Mr Chris Kinyanjui's office with hammers and crude weapons chanting 'Kinyanjui must go' slogans accusing the soft spoken lawyer of underfunding them during the inter-counties games at Machakos County.

They also accused Mr Kinyanjui for purchasing low quality uniforms.

Although they rubbished the claims, the recent turn of events where the Assembly leadership was changed, tells it all that there are serious issues in the Second Assembly and that the drama in the clerk’s office was just but a sideshow.

According to a member of County Assembly who requested anonymity, the members targeted the Speaker and only used the clerk as sacrificial lamb.

The Speaker and the leadership of the Assembly including Majority Leader Erick Kamande, Chief Whip Simon Wamwea has been labeled as Governor Mwangi wa Iria's foot soldiers.

"Soon after we reported to the Assembly, a senior official in Jubilee Government called us the meeting and said he wanted to enlighten us on devolution matters.

"We were advised that for the Assembly to run effectively, the leadership should not be ardent supporters of the County executive," the MCA told KK Online News.

The Assembly leadership as currently constituted could not agree to be used by external forces to spearhead 'selling the name of the new leader' to the electorates due to their allegiance to the governor hence the idea of replacing the office holders.

The move is seen as a strategy by the said official to position himself in 2022 politics as well as bringing down the governor who is also said to be preparing to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta in Mt Kenya politics to suppress his popularity.

The scheme would kill two doves with one stone, change the leadership to get the central line of command to popularize the financier in respective Wards and public meetings as well as getting the leaders who would stand with MCAs to advocate for allowances.

According to the game plan, the members will also impeach the Speaker and replace him with Mr Simon Gikuru who was an Aspirant in race for the Speaker but was locked out since his proposers did not participate in the election due to the fact that there was an ongoing case challenging their nomination

Members affiliated to Mr Iria could not stomach the alleged game plan prompting them to do all what they can to defend and protect their master.

On January 5 goons attacked the MCAs who support Mr Iria and who opposed replacement of the Assembly leadership saying there were no grounds for replacing them.

"No one has filed a petition challenging the leadership of the majority leader and the Chief Whip, they only changed them to appease their masters," Mr Nahashon Gachuhi, one of the MCAs who was assaulted said.

He said when he questioned the process, goons descended on him with stones kicks and blows and left him for dead.

The external forces have caused the Presidential party in Murang'a to split into two, one side supporting the governor while the other opposing him.

Charles Muthoni, a Jubilee party chairperson for Kigumo Constituency who was also assaulted said he opposed the negative influence by the external forces leading to a thorough beating to an extent of screaming.

"We must guard our integrity, no one should give party officials money so that we forget to safeguard the party's constitution and regulations," he said.

Mr Njoroge has accused Principal Secretary for Planning and Devolution Irungu Nyakera in connection with the infightings.

"This is not a small fight, Mr Nyakera wants to take over the leadership of Murang'a County and even spearhead the impeachment of the governor come next year," Mr Njoroge claimed.

He said Mr Nyakera wants to be the next governor as well as the Murang'a kingpin hence the reason why he wants to control the house so that come 2022 Mr Iria will not be a king maker and will not be in power to determine the next governor.

Mr Nyakera’s sister Wambui Nyakera has been elected the new Chief Whip replacing Mr Wamwea.

Mr Nyakera was not available for a comment.

A Jubilee MP in Murang’a County is contemplating to separate with the spouse few months after tasting the tittle “Mheshimiwa” and wants to live a free life.

The politician who has been in the marriage for over 20 years decided to call it quit after realizing that the marriage is occupying most of the time that the MP would be interacting with his fellow honorable members in late night meetings and joints.

According to a source, a friend of Mheshimiwa, who sought anonymity the MP has since shifted to Nairobi to show the seriousness for separation.

“The MP is now living in Nairobi to express the seriousness of separating, we have information that the freedom-seeking legislator will file a divorce soon but silently,” the informer told KK Online News.

The relocation of the MP to Nairobi County has paralyzed the operations of the Constituency office since the MP who is supposed to be giving instructions and directions in the running of the Constituency.

The MP has also disconnected the communication with the electorates for fear of being asked about her ailing marriage.

“I have been trying to reach my MP to assist in needy cases for the students who are joining form one but I don’t get reply, we used to be good friends and we could communicate about three days per week,” another source told KK Online News.

Another area of concern is the election of the Project Management Committees PMC where the MP has remained mum about it.

Locals are now wondering whether there will be service delivery for a period of five years.

They are now asking the MP to get back to them and start working citing divorce and separation has been in existence since Demi and Mathathi.

“Some of separated a long time ago and the MP should not worry although we know money matters and feeling superior has greatly contributed to domestic issues, all what we need is service delivery,” a voter in the County said.

KK Online will be getting the MP’s version and we shall publish it in due time.
