GETTING THE FACTS RIGHT: Is MUWASCO SECRETLY SUPPLYING WATER TO KIRINYAGA?

Water is the most important necessity of life for all the living beings on earth.
Itself being tasteless, odourless and colourless, it's adds taste, colour and nice smell in the life of living beings on earth.

However many parts of Muranga County face water scarcity in Kiharu, Kabuta, Kimathi, and Kiangatia are examples of areas where residents struggle to get the important commodity, water.
When a section of Muranga town residents saw pipes along the Murang'a Sagana road, many started speculations that Murang'a water and sanitation company is on a mission to supply water to Sagana Town residents.

The subject became the talk of town where some have even called KK online News requesting us to investigate the matter and report whether the accusations are true.

"How can MUWASCO initiate a project to Sagana Town which is in Kirinyaga County?" a text message was posed to KK online News.

It was because of the above concerns that KK online News sought to know the truth of the matter from the horses mouth, Director of the Murang'a Water and Sanitation company Engineer Daniel Ng'ang'a.

He stated that the project dubbed Kabuta Sagana Road Water Project is purely and specifically targeting the areas of Kabuta, Kimathi and Kiangatia residents which are believed to be semi arid areas.

"Our mandate is to supply water to Murang'a residents and not Kirinyaga residents this means that the project will not go beyond the Sagana river which nears Sagana Town," Ng'ang'a said.
He said that the project is targeting 9000 people in those areas who are currently facing water scarcity.

"We have also started a special program known as Social Connection Policy where we shall connect water to these homes for free allowing our clients to pay gradually for a period of 12 months," Ng'ang'a said.

Speaking during an inspection tour of the ongoing project Ng'ang'a said that the project is as a result of a grant form Vitens Evides International (VEI) a consortium of six Dutch Water companies who gave out Ksh 16.9 Million for the project.

"The project will contribute positively to the area inhabitants because without water there is no life, every person deserves a chance to pursue their dreams and provide for their family, making sure each and every person has water is not a choice, it's a responsibility." Ng'ang'a told KK online News adding that clean water reduces childhood diseases keeping children in classes instead of Health clinics.

The provision of this rare commodity in these region something that the area residents have welcomed warmly.
"Access to clean water allows individuals to put their time and efforts into realizing their dreams instead of simply surviving, we shall divert time wasted on finding water to other meaningful activities," James Ndirangu from Kabuta has said.

Going by the above revelations, KK online News can authoritatively report that the propaganda that MUWASCO wanted to supply water to Sagana Town was ill intended and it was politicians who have resulted to Chicanery to deceive and confuse voters about Muwasco and in turn gain political mileage.

Thanks to the officials of the water service provider Company who have been showing no excessive or extreme qualities of fancy, emotion or prejudice in the service delivery.

Now you are in the know.
