ANALYSIS: THIS YEAR'S BUDGET IS A POLITICAL AND ELECTION BUDGET

If you keenly followed the Parliament during the reading of the budget, you will note that it was purposely a political trickery to hoodwink and endear Voters so as to vote Jubilee for a second term.
The political theatrics manifests itself when the Cabinet secretary Henry Rotich announced that prices for Unga will not be taxed. You yourself why Now, The Jubilee Gvt have been in power for four years, Why did they not realize that poor Kenyans were struggling for a living.
Although the budget avoided hurting voters many argue that the lots of monies kept aside May not necessarily reflect into development due to corruption related issues and for that reason Rotich would have factored Money for Corruption in his budget.
BETTING
instead of the Government coming up with regulations for betting it came up with a mechanism of robbing Kenyans by demanding 50% of the money for through betting. This is pure theft and reaping where it has not sowed. After taking 50% how much will be left for the hopeless Kenyans who get their living through betting to an extent of commiting suicide if their bet does not come true!
Instead of this punitive measure, Government ought to have banned betting!
