REVEALED: UNTOLD STORIES ON TAIFA LA JUBILEE CARAVAN BY GOVERNOR MWANGI WA IRIA

Murang'a Governor Mwangi wa Iria has launched a campaign caravan aimed at crisscrossing all parts of the Country drumming up support for the re election of Uhuru Kenyatta after Supreme Court declared that the August 8 General Election was bungled.

His caravan comes amid murmurs and speculations that the County CEO has been missing in action when the other County leaders go round the County urging the electorates to come out in large numbers to vote for the President on October 17. Before the nullified General Election the Jubilee leaders except the Governor had joined together under Mbele Iko Sawa caravan that was being led by Murang'a Women Rep Sabina Chege.

After the General Election Ms Sabina and the a few of County MPs came back with another Caravan this time round under the tittle Wembe ni Ule Ule. Again Mr Wa Iria was missing a move that triggered sentiments from the social media users wondering why the County boss was not among the leaders. This followed a Facebook post by Irungu Kangata thanking Sabina and MPs {he named them] for engaging for the voluntary campaign clarifying that they had only received apologies from Mathioya MP Peter Kimari. The post excluded Wa Iria's name

However the launch of Taifa La Jubilee caravan on August 13 at Ihura stadium re assured not only the County residents but to the entire Mt Kenya region of Wa Iria's commitment and zeal to campaign for his Excellency Uhuru Kenyatta. No other elected leader had come up with Wa Iria's strategy , branding over a hundred vehicles and bringing on board all the campaign machinery to campaign for the President not only in Murang'a but in Mt Kenya region!

What you may not know is the underlying political impact that is expected  out of the caravan by Wa Iria and other actors before, during and after the general election.

While there are perception that Sabina Chege is strategizing to vie either the Governor seat or scheming to Deputize William Ruto in 2022, Mr Wa Iria who is serving in his last term is also touted to be the next Agikuyu kin pin who many think is the next best suited to deputize Ruto.

In fact Murang'a  leaders led by Senator Irungu Kang'ata  Deputy Governor Maina Kamau, Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro, Maragua lawmaker Mary Wamaua her Kigumo and Kandara counterparts Ruth Mwaniki and Alice Wahome respectively Mathioya's Peter Kimari and Gatanga legislator Mr Joseph Nduati during Mr Wa Iria's swearing ceremony said they did not want anything less than a Deputy President post and presented Wa Iria as their sure bet.

If both Wa Iria and Sabina will be eyeing the DP post, we would say that Wa Iria's caravan may earn him popularity that would work for him as the Central Kenya's favorite when lobbying for the DP position. His inroads for some parts of Kirinyaga and Nyeri Counties on August 13 proved that Wa Iria's popularity was growing at a fast rate while many adore his campaign moves especially after trouncing one of his main challenger Mr Jamleck Kamau who was touted to be Murang'as political giant.

Although Nyeri's new Governor Wahome Gakuru welcomed Mr Wa Iria in Nyeri as his senior we will be closely monitoring whether it will be the case in Kirinyaga where Ann Waiguru is also said to be eying the DP post. However residents of Kiangwachi and Sagana asked Mr Wa Iria to advise their Governor to to seek Wa Iria's advise on how to run a government. NOW YOU ARE IN THE KNOW
