Political alignments and realignments has started taking shape in Mt Kenya region and Murang'a being the pace setter county has not been left behind.

 Murang'a Governor Mwangi Wa Iria's confidants have registered a political party in a move seen as  positioning ahead of the most waited and anticipated 2022 Gebneral election.

James Mwangi and Ephantus Githae, the minds behind the new Party known as Civil Renewal Party have gone a mile further in meeting the people tour in Mt Kenya region.

 KK Online News has learnt that the two brilliant men have met political stakeholders in Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang'a and Kiambu counties who have expressed interests and support to the party.

 According to Mr Mwangi who is the interim chairperson of the party the decided to name it 'Civil Renewal Party' because they want to restore the intense lobbying for the country's economic rights a move that has been abandoned by the political parties which Mr Mwangi describes as brief case parties with an aim of elevating political leaders to elective positions after every five years.

 "Ours will last our aim and intention is not only to elevate leaders to elective positions but also to engage county governments and the assemblies on policy making, drafting beneficial economic bills even after the elections.

 Mr Mwangi said the current political parties including the Jubilee and the ODM has a tendency of ceasing fire after the general election leaving their members at the detriment of representatives either the governors the MPS and the President noting the party will keep the ball rolling now and then.

He said together with the Deputy Chairman, the former assistant to Marsabit Governor Godana Doyo, the party has intensified massive party registration where over 70000 locals have so far registered.

"The party is getting overwhelming support to the locals as it will not peg itself under tribal inclinations but all Kenyans who want to advocate for a better tomorrow," he added.

He exuded confidence that the party will surpass its numbers and outshine the two major parties in the country and if all goes well field a Presidential candidate in 2022.

According to political pundits, Governor Mwangi could be the brain child of the party a move they note could be a well-planned exit into political arena by censuring a political party which if proper mobilization could be done, the party may sponsor several leaders into elective positions and thus giving the governor a strong bargaining power that could see him rise in high political space in Mt Kenya.

Martin Njuguna a political scientist said leaders like Musalia Mudavadi, Kalonzo Musyoka and even Moses Wetangula have demanded respect and authority by top government officials nor because of their elective positions but because of the political parties that have sponsored a few leaders into parliament and county assemblies.

He said the new party may be Mr Iria's secret and final card into getting into national politics.

"Going by his aides' move the you might see the brainy governor called in the round table to bargain by the political mighty and et considered in a powerful state appointment," Mr Njuguna said.

However if all goes negative, the second term governor may suffer a major setback if powers that be decide to antagonize him and fight him tooth and mouth for trying to impose hurdles in their way to power.

 "The worst bit would be for mightier politicians like Deputy President William Ruto sees the Governor as his worthy opponent and deploy machinery to fight him that's when you will see impeachments, Friday arrests and myriad prosecutions in court," he told the KK ONLINE.

However Mr Mwangi was quick to lament that the governor had no hand in forming of the new party saying as far as he was concerned, Governor Mwangi was a strong support and member of Jubilee party.

"Power is bestowed to its citizenry and we are the people everyone including me or you have the right to register a new party as long as you have what it takes," he said.

He added that they decided to form the party after the Jubilee party forsake the Mt Kenya and the country's top priority of development agenda.

A spirited campaign has been mounted to try to scuttle the ever rising star of a young vibrant former Principal Secretary for Planning Irungu Nyakera.

The meeting that happened two weeks ago detailed how key board worriers would be paid money to smear falsehoods about Mr Nyakera on accusations of mismanagement of 2017 campaign finance in efforts to silence him in social media after and on the ground where he has attracted massive following for his closeness to the youth and women.

The meeting conducted at a high end hotel in Nairobi convened by a certain politician who has declared interests to vie for gubernatorial seat in 2022 brought together hunger-striken youth who mostly blogged about politicians during 2017 election but has been ‘at the forests’ since then.

A source who talked to KK Online on condition of anonymity said they were told of how they would be given bundles and stipends to smear negative campaign against Mr Nyakera.

“Yes we were there about 15 of us and the agenda was how we would kill Nyakera’s ever rising and shining star both in social media and on the ground.

“We were also paid Sh5000 but I can tell you at the comfort of my seat, we shall do that but the young man has earned himself a name and the love at the equal measure,” he told the KK Online at its Kenol offices in Murang’a South.

But even as the well-orchestrated campaign is being planned, KK Online News has learnt that the prophets of doom has no breakdown of the factual figures but want to cook  fake figures just in the name of jealous envy and devilish objective.

However the KK online has exclusively and extensively received documents form a reliable source.

A campaign fundraiser was conducted during the reelection campaign of President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto after the nullification of the presidential results by Supreme Court.

During the fundraiser millions of money  was pledged by influential people among them business tycoons.

This was to ensure that serious mobilization was done in Murang’a country and to ensure almost a 100 per cent turn out.

In fact according to a youth who was directly involved during the campaigns, Mr Nyakera and other government officials were forced to top up more money to assist in the campaigns.

“The money was not enough for paying f trucks, gospel and secular artists and for the participants of the day to day campaigns and Mr Nyakera and others topped up the money using their own money,” a youth told KK Online on phone.

Mr Nyakera has lately been involved in mentorship programs to schools and through his Nyakera foundation he has crisscrossed every corner of the county in bid to uplift the living standards of Murang’a citizenry.

His moves has made a Murang’a politician shiver and started planning how to pull him down so that by 2022 he may not be powerful and strong.

It is apparent that the young and vibrant turk has not declared which seat he will be vying or whether he will be participating in the next general election.

His handlers told the KK ONLINE that he prioritizes in helping the locals first and is not currently involved in local and national politics.

REWARD: MURANG’A MCA GETS A LUCRATIVE SEAT IN COUNTY ASSEMBLIES FORUM

Even after turmoil, physical war and leadership wangles that have locked Murang’a County Assembly, one of its members has been elected the Central Cluster Representative who will be in charge of Central region.

County Assemblies Forum [CAF] brings together all the counties with the sole objective of enhancing County Legislation across the Country.

Being the representative of the Central Region the MCA will represent Murang’a, Kiambu, Kirinyaga, Nyeri and Nyandarua Counties.

Mr Charles Mwangi Ng’ang’a commonly known as Ichagaki One is the man of the moment.

Mr Ng’ang’a is the MCA for Ichagaki Ward an electoral area in Maragua Constituency who mercilessly beat the former MCA Mr Joseph Ndung’u Njogu with over 5000 votes.

The down to earth gentleman known for his humanitarian deeds in his Ward and across Maragua Constituency is also hailed for his love for education to an extent of forming a program dubbed Kianjiruini Mentors which has since extended to the Constituency level with a sole aim of mentoring pupils and students to improve their performance.

Talking to KK ONLINE NEWS on phone Mr Ng’ang’a said he will be working closely with Members of County Assemblies in the region to improve their relationship with the respective county leaders so that development agendas may be realized in those counties.

Asked on the ongoing turmoil in his mother County, the outspoken leader exuded confidence that all will be well and that normalcy will return and they shall work harmoniously as one team.

“Just wait and see we shall redeem the image of our County and we shall work as a team in the Assembly. Even the smallest unit of governance which is the family must have differences that do not mean that family members keep on fighting.

“We are soon going to iron out our differences and give respect to one another and work will be done in the Executive and amongst ourselves,” the Central Region Representative for MCAs told KK ONLINE NEWS.

KK ONLINE NEWS has established that Mr Ng’ang’a, has just jetted back from Mombasa after a one-week induction seminar for Executive Committee Induction that was organized by CAF Governing Council.

Mr Ng’ang’a who is also Jubilee Caucus Chairman in Murang’a County Assembly has a huge burden since he becomes the Central Rep at a time when the office bearer of such a position is expected to be firm and offer advice to Jubilee Party, The Assembly and Governors in his jurisdiction.
