"Our Honorary Diocesan Chancellor and Chairman of the Electoral College Mr Kimani Kairu and your team, the electoral College, My Lord Bishops, the clergy, Christians of the Diocese of Mt Kenya Central and all present. Praise the Lord.

I want to say that for me this is a very humbling issue. I'm deeply humbled by this great challenge of being elected the 4th Diocesan Bishop of the Diocese of Mt Kenya Central. My family, My wife Esther in absentia but joining us soon, my daughters Salome and Dorris who recently moved to the United States of America to continue with their studies (I had a nice time together during part of my annual leave which is ending today) and my son Alex definitely join me in thanking you for showing confidence that you believe I will be able to serve as the Diocesan Bishop.

I would like to take this earliest to thank his Grace the Arch Bishop Rt. Rev Jackson Ole Sapit for his tireless efforts in ensuring the Diocese had elections
The "Second Election Journey" started from Diocesan Synod held on 4th Feb 2017 which he personally chaired. The process has finally culminated in election of the 4th Diocesan Bishop
His determined impartial and assertive approach coupled with love and understanding will forever be cherished by Christians of this Diocese and we together wish him God's blessings and interventions in all his endeavours as he leads the Anglican Church Of Kenya.

I cannot forget the prayer teams that spent their time agonising over and interceding for this process. This is what prayers can do. I pray the spirit of prayer continue in this Diocese. One instance of the prayer Is the graceful acceptance to restart the Bishopric election process right from the local churches after the direction to do so by the Provincial office. It has not been an easy road but God remained faithful. The Bible tell us to continue praying without CEASING.

Ven John with his wife Mama Mwangi Ven Wilson and Mama Dennis are my colleagues in this Diocese. We have come along way as friends in this Diocese. I appreciate that they not only offered their Candidatures but the three of us were recommended by the Search Committee held on May 6th 2017. I applaud their concession with humility and appreciation. Lets join hands to serve this great Diocese.

I believe this is not my Victory but the Lords Victory. This could not have been humanly possible because deliberate, Frequent and Aggressive efforts to block the process have been done since we started the process BUT i believe we all need to accept and come to the reality of God's will. Brethren God works mysteriously as Paul reminds us in Romans 8:28 when he says "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him who have been called according to His purpose" although God's ways may seem to be mysterious and unfathomable at times, we can rest confidently that they are higher than our ways. I therefore take this responsibility with humility.

Now that we have come to an end of lobbying, Jostling and praying for the preferred Candidates, let us now join hands to serve this great Diocese. A Diocese with a great history of Spirituality. It is therefore with profound thanksgiving to God and the Church that I will serve with dedication and with all my strength and with God's help.

As I conclude, let us pray that our Diocese will grow from strength to strength. To achieve this, it is my humble appeal that all of us MUST BE COMMITTED TO OUR CALLING. let us persue peace, forgiveness and reconciliation as we pray for one another so that we may move on.We must do our best to advance unity, we must work together and be seen working together. Somebody wisely said that if you want to walk fast walk alone but if you want to go far walk together with others.

Now to him who is able to keep us from falling and to present is faultless before the presence of his groly and exceeding joy to god our Savior who alone is wise be the groly and majesty dominion and power both now we'd forever amen Jude 24 25

THE END OF THE SPEECH

The office of Hon Irungu Kangata has told KK online News that the staff from the senators office induced youth to carry the placards and equally got instructions to heckle Irungu Kangata, to create a perception of voter hostility towards his candidature.

"The residents went further to provide photographic evidence of the staff deployed for the heinous acts,

We have all the reasons to associate Kembi with the election malpractices since we have evident photos of his 3 staffs with sports  utility vehicle Honda model  ferrying the placards and the hired youth were also  captured on camera," a Campaign strategist in Kangata's camp told KK online News.

Kiharu's legislator believe that the act is In contravention of the electrol code of conduct and is now on his final touches preparing to make a formal complaint to the IEBC.

However Muranga Senator and Senate Deputy Speaker Kembi Gitura has rubbished Kangata's accusations as cheap propagandas asking him to 'Fight his own battles'

"Let him learn how to fight his own wars and stop involving me in his cheap political propaganda and he is free to go to IEBC Tribunal or court. I'll meet him there," Kembi told KK online News.

Kembi Gitura clashed with Irungu Kangata during the disbursement of relief food at Kambiti where he asked voters not to vote Kangata in the Senate as he had earlier said he would prepare a bill to scrap the upper house.

EXCLUSIVE : Residents Accuse Chief Of Stealing Relief Food

On 6th June this year Devolution and Planning Cabinet Secretary, Mwangi Kiunjuri distributed relief food in Makuyu, Mithi-ini and Kambiti villages in Muranga County accompanied by Transport, Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development CS, James Kamau Macharia, Planning Principal Secretary, Irungu Nyakera and Housing Principal Secretary Arch. Iddah Munano.

This was because of  the prolonged drought that has left hundred of thousands residents hungry, hopeless and in dire need of Government intervention.

The County where some parts are relatively dry has been identified among most drought hit areas that require government’s intervention.

After long hours of waiting at Kambiti Chief's camp, the hungry residents started witnessing huge Government vehicles flowing in.

With rekindled  hope, they knew that they would go home, happy and with good news to their children who had probably slept, empty stomachs.

When Mwangi Kiunjuri took to the podium, he assured Kambiti inhabitants that each could take home  atleast 20 Kilograms of maize and rice.

Upon receiving the rare message from the CS, the crowd cheered with joy and happiness because the food would take them atleast a week or two.

However this never happened. Residents took home two cups of rice and two cups of Maize.

Residents were in for a rude shock. They could not question the Chiefs, Assistant Chiefs and the Village heads since they would not dare play with 'Kirauni'

They went home tired, frustrated, angry and feeling cheated.

Feeling cheated because they knew  it was their Administrators 'Who stole their right, relief food"

According to the area residents, Chiefs, Assistant Chiefs and the village heads could store the relief food and subdivide amongst themselves in future.

On Thursday 8th June this year, several residents notified KK online News that the Chief and his Juniors had converged at his office to 'Steal the rest of the relief food'.

"We were used as mere stamps to pave way for the administrators to get the relief food, it was meant for them not us," a resident told KK online News.

The area residents Now want the Government officials to make sure that whenever there is such programs they wait until the residents get their share to avoid exploitation by the Chiefs.

They told KK online News that the Chief, his Assistant Chiefs took home 2 sacks each!

However Muranga South Assistant County Commissioner Titus Macharia told KK online News that the Chiefs and his Juniors met yesterday to share relief food meant for Persie Davies, ( a school for the disabled) and Mihango primary school where there is a school feeding program.

He also said that those with concrete evidence should avail him or herself to his office at Kenol promising to deal ruthlessly with any officer found culpable.

"People came out in large numbers for the relief food and that's why it was not enough but The CS promised to give us more from next week," Macharia told KK online News on phone.
