All Murang’a Members of County Assembly have been summoned at
hotel Trotters today at 11 to confirm their leaders who are supposed to conduct
the house business for the next five years.
One of the MCA has whispered to KK Online News that majority of
the leaders are opposed to this move but they cannot question the County king
for fear of being sidelined in development agendas in their respective Wards.
He said they are being coerced the way they were forced to elect Nduati Kariuki
to continue being the Speaker of the County Assembly.
KK Online has exclusively unmasked the names that have been
fronted to be confirmed by the MCAs without question. The Majority leader post
will be given to Kahumbu MCA Eric Kamande Kimani who is a close ally and a
confidant to Governor Mwangi wa Iria.
Chief Whip position will be going to Kandara to the only
Akorino member Wamwea Simon Mwaura [Ng’araria] in Murang’a county Assembly.
Interestingly this is the Constituency that has produced the Deputy Governor Hon
Maina Kamau, the former Kandara MP.
The Deputy Speaker post has been given to Mr Mwirigi Nahashon
Gachuhi from Gatanga Ward. It seems that the constituency had to retain the
seat since Mr Moses Gachui a former MCA from Kihumbuini ward in the first
Assembly was the one deputizing Mr Nduati Kariuki.
Mr Charles Ng’ang’a
from Ichagaki ward, Mr Amos Murigi and Peter Mburu Muthoni from Kagunduini ward
who had shown interest for the majority leader position have been cornered.
Word has it that Mr Murigi and Mr Ichagaki one could not be
considered since both come from one Constituency with the Assembly Speaker while
Mr Mburu could not be considered since he is not considered ‘straight’.
Ms Pelagiah Muthoni from Kakuzi Mitumbiri, her Mbiri
counterpart Mr Duncan Muturi and bonga point Lillian Kabaya who had started
lobbying for the Deputy Speaker post will have to kujipa shughuli since Gachuhi has outsmarted them.
Although there have been murmurs and jittery from the MCAs
who think that Governor Mwangi wa Iria is heel bent in micro managing the
Assembly KK ONLINE has credible information that it is Jubilee Party that
indeed called for the caucus at Kenol.
“Those posts MUST be given with the blessings of the party,
If any of the MCA feel that he want to an independent thinker, let him resign
and vie as an Independent candidate and we shall not bother texting him or her
about the party affairs,” A Jubilee official told the KK ONLINE EDITOR.
She said calling fir caucus was inline of the party constitution
and that the party would do everything possible to strengthen the party in the
county.
