List Of Applicants For Speaker's Position In Murang'a County Assembly

With less than 50 days to the next General Elections, leaders who will not be participating in the elections as contenders are as busy as a bee doing all manner of things to ensure they will be part of the next Government.

With the IEBC having gazetted the names of the candidates from the Presidential hopefuls all the way to the Members of  County Assembly, the Now much coveted position in the Counties is the seat for the County Assembly Speaker.

In Muranga County there are reports that Nduati Kariuki, the current Speaker of Muranga County Assembly will be lobbying to have him get back his position.

Others are Kihumbuini Member of County Assembly Hon Moses Gachuui who is also the Deputy speaker in Muranga County Assembly.

Gachui lost in Jubilee Nominations

Gaichanjiru Member of County Assembly Hon Bernard Wanyoike is also said to have submitted his name with hopes of leading the Second County Assembly since inception of Devolution in the Country.

Mr Nyutu who is said to be the proprietor of St Michael's Girls School based at Kenol is also said to have been trying to reach out Jubilee nominees, with an aim of luring them to remember him when they reach to the floor of the house.

The fourth Candidate, Mr Peter Njangi, a teacher by profession who aspired to be the next Murang'a Speaker but his dreams were smashed by Irungu Kangata is also in the list of the four candidates.

According to a survey done by KK online News, there is a high likelihood that the Next Speaker of Muranga County Assembly will come from Murang'a South and mostly in Maragua.

This means that Nduati Kariuki and Bernard Wanyoike from Kandara may not sail through. This is because Wa Iria selected his Deputy, Maina Kamau from Kandara and this minimizes chances of the duo to clinch the much coveted seat.

For Moses Gachuui, his ambitions may not see the light because Gatanga has produced a high ranked Murang'a County Government official, The Deputy Governor Hon Gakure Monyo.

Having no candidate from Kigumo Constituency, we only have two choices Mr. Nyutu and Mwalimu Peter Njangi from Maragua Constituency.

Little is known for Mr Nyutu. He has not been in public limelight neither do the public know of his contributions in selling Jubilee's manifesto.

This could give Mr Peter Njangi an easy and smooth entry into Murang'a County Assembly as the First in Command in Legislative arm of Muranga County Government 2017.

Njangi who lost to Hon Irungu Kangata in the Senatorial race, was among the First loser to announce that he had supported the winner and even asked Murang'a Senator Kembi Gitura to follow suit. He was philosophical when he lost and swallowed a bitter pill and moved on.

As if that was not enough he started attending rallies, political meetings and church gatherings asking Murang'a residents to come out in large numbers in the month of August to vote for His Excellency Uhuru Kenyatta and all the Jubilee nominees.

The down to earth Njangi has been in the teaching profession for the last 28 years a platform that has given him uncompromising skills of running a public institution.

An Mca Jubilee Nominee who requested anonymity, described Njangi as intelligent broadminded and straight forward leader with alot of untapped potential to give wise counsel to Those who would make it to the County Assembly.

"This is the best guy for the seat of Speaker, during the hotly contested gubernatorial politics between Hon Jamleck Kamau and Governor Mwangi wa Iria, he established a peace movement that calmed the situation. He crisscrossed every part of Muranga preaching peace, he should be rewarded for this," the leader told KK online News.

James Mwangi a Kiharu resident acknowledged Njangi for his acts of mercy that has saw over 8 bright but humble students being sponsored by the ambitious and gregarious man.
'Some of these students are at Maragi, Vidhu Ramji Secondary school to mention but a few," Mwangi said.

Describing him as Charismatic, Courageous and ambitious, Mwangi said that Njangi has given the down trodden in the society a shoulder to lean on and his deeds should bear fruits for him being considered as the next Murang'a Speaker.

TOP SECRET: DR MOSES DISCLOSES HIS SECRET CARD FOR WINNING ROUND TWO IN HIGH COURT

After weeks of sleepless nights, Murang'a Gubernatorial candidate Dr. Moses Mwangi, his family and supporters can now afford a sleep and to an extent a long nap.

On 15th June this year (Thursday) Moses' Supporters kept their fingers crossed at Milimani's high Court relentlessly and eagerly awaiting the Judge's verdict after the Complainant Mr. Peter Gatawa appealed days after his case was dismissed by The Tribunal.

Gatawa has argued that Moses hopped from 3 political parties contrary to the Elections laws.

However the Judge ruled on Moses Mwangi's favour confirming the earlier judgment by the Tribunal.

The court observed that Gatawa did not table compelling evidence to substantiate his litany of accusations and ruled that he carry the burden of payments to Moses 3 lawyers

Upon hearing the verdict Mzalendo Saba Saba candidate's supporters were ecstatic evidenced by cheerfulness and conviviality almost forgetting they were in a Court of law and start dancing.

Wearing uncharacteristically jovial face, Moses lauded the Judicial system of Kenya for rulling on his favour saying that the Court was not swayed by Political innuendos.

"The ruling today shows that Judiciary is headed by men and women with able and sober minds and signifies that those who want to get the Gubernatorial seat through Courts are doomed to fail," Moses said.

Addressing the media after the ruling the Happy Mwangi rebuked his Opponent for sponsoring legal battles so as to gain the upper hand in Gubernatorial race.

He also accused his opponent, Governor Mwangi wa Iria for playing with his hands since he announced his candidature.

Asked what could have been triggered his win in round two, Moses said that it has been a journey that has been characterised with daily prayers from supporters and his family

He said that since the case was taken to Milimani Law Courts he chose to remain calm, collected and humble pleading with his supporters to ape him something he said contributed greatly in winning the case adding that it was not his but for the Murang'a people.

He exuded confidence that he would emerge victorious in the General elections which will take place in less than 50 days.

On his part Mr. Ng'ang'a the area Chair for Nyumba Kumi have also expressed concerns over the rising number of cases of insecurity and has called on security agencies to crackdown the killer gang.

He said that   “Insecurity is on the rise and we are even forced to go for short calls in basins at night due to fear of our safety,” Ng'ang'a said

He added that Criminals were roaming freely in Mukuyu and continued to maim residents with impunity,”

He warned that failure for the security agencies to take charge they would not sit and watch as thugs torture residents.

LEGAL TSUNAMI: 4pm Today Moses Mwangi's Date With High Court

If you thought Dr Moses Ndungu Mwangi was out of the hook over a case that has been filed against him and ruled on his favour was over (of allegations of party hopping ) then you are indeed mistaken.

The case that had been filed by Peter Gatawa, a former Kiru Councillor, a loser of Jubilee party primaries and a close ally of Governor Mwangi wa Iria had been dismissed by Milimani law courts but Gatawa appealed in the High Court with an aim of vindicating his allegations with what he calls un impeachable evidence hoping that he shall get unequivocal justice.

He has filed a litany of accusations against Mzalendo Saba Saba party Gubernatorial Aspirant.

Gatawa urges the Court to nullify Moses Mwangi's candidature over claims that he party hopped from Jubilee Party to Maendeleo Chap Chap and then to Mzalendo Saba Saba party.

Kk online News has since established that Jubilee Party has affirmed that they never received a resignation letter from Doctor Moses who defected from Jubilee party a day before the first flopped party primaries.

The case which have kept Moses and his supporters wide awake will be determined in less that 8 hours from now.

His followers have ants in pants because if it is ruled against their favour then it means that Daktari may not be in the ballot on 8/8/2017 a move that may demotivate them from participating in the General elections.

However if the case will be ruled in their favour then it creates a very fertile grounds for Moses to seek sympathy from the voters who may see this as a move to deny  his political right.

The ruling may make or break Dr. Moses' Candidature something that has made his supporters hold their breath relentlessly waiting for the verdict.

Yesterday Moses took to social media asking his supporters to "accompany him at the Court precincts and offer moral support to our Governor"

He accused his opponent for sponsoring Court litigations in efforts to have him Disqualified to participate in the General elections.

In an emotional facebook post Moses wrote. "They have partially succeeded because his name now cannot be gazetted by Iebc pending the hearing and determination of the case levelled against him".

He concluded with a Bible verse from Luke 18:7&8: "And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly."

We will be closely monitoring the case and we shall be updating you on the proceedings and the ruling of the same
