Another term in office for Wairia ally

With 21 votes Hon. Leonard Nduati Kariuki retains his seat as speaker of murang'a county assembly, beating his closest  competitor Joseph Nyutu  who garnered 14 votes .

The race had attracted 5 candidates ,two withdrawing
before leaving the battle to three namely Joseph Nyutu,Nduati Kariuki and Simon Kamau murang'a county Jubilee chair.

The race however had to go to the second round voting  after  none of the candidates was able to close the 2/3 support threshold.

In the first round Nyutu had 11 votes,Nduati 19 with Kamau managing 5 votes .The second round however left Nyutu and Nduati on the race ,where Nduati carried the day.
Hon.Nduati Kariuki the speaker of Murang'a county assembly

Its  a win too to for the governor Wairia  since he had  lobbied for  Kariuki's reelection.

Nduati was elected after the elected MCAs were sworn in ,in a ceremony presided over by the county  assembly  clerk . There were light moments as the MCAs struggled to pronounce the words constitution and diligently just like their National assembly counterparts struggled with the word conscientiously, with some opting to use swahili version.
It didn't  help matters that in both cases the Honorable legislatures were live in Various radio stations and TVs.

The swearing in task however will have to go for a second round too as nominated  MCAs were not sworn in  considering there is a pending case in  court contesting the list of the nominees .

The list was faulted as there was no person to represent people with disabilities had been nominated leading to demos and other allegations that the law had not been followed while nominating . its now the duty of the court to determine the case thus paving the way for the nominees swearing in.
the MCAs task is as described below:
