Exclusive: Wa Iria Takes On Peter Munga Over 'Oppression'

Storm is brewing in Muranga County after Governor Mwangi wa Iria declared to deal vigorously with Equity Bank's Chair Peter Munga over his continued moves in oppressing Murang'a residents.

Wa Iria is set to hold a mother of all meetings at Ihura Stadium Next Week on Wednesday to discuss the increment of water Tarrifs by Muranga Water and Sanitation Company where Peter Munga is the chairman.

KK online News has learnt that one of the agendas of the meeting is to immediately lower water Tarrifs and also reduce  connection fees for the water meters.

A source within the County Government has told KK online News that Governor Mwangi wa Iria has taken the matter personally and have demanded that it is a must for Peter Munga attend the meeting in person without apologies.

Murang'a residents have been raising concerns over the reckless  increase of water Tarrifs by MUWASCO.

Attempts by Muranga leaders to address the water problems have been frustrated by strong forces believed to emanate from Munga, a Murang'a tycoon.

Last year a Murang'a resident filed a case at Murang'a law Courts represented by Muranga Jubilee Nominee for Senate and Kiharu lawmaker Irungu Kangata but a day before the verdict was announced, the resident withdrew the case without clear explanations.

However Muranga residents believe that the plaintiff was rewarded handsomely by Muranga water and sanitation company To Withdraw the case.

It is said that the petitioner bought two cars immediately after withdrawing the petition.

Peter Munga is a feared business tycoon who is said to be well connected to Government machinery and is touted to mending fences with Uhuru Kenyatta after a continued rivalry.

Munga, who also owns Equatorial Nuts Processers located at Maragua is also alledged to be sponsoring the candidacy of Moses Mwangi his immediate employee.

A close source within Dr. Moses Mwangi camp has whispered to KK online News that Munga and other Murang'a business community has raised over 500 Million to boost his campaigns.

In a Secret meeting that was held at Jacarada Hotel tycoons swore to do all what they can to oust Governor Mwangi wa Iria.

All eyes are now looking at Ihura Stadium where Wa Iria is set to meet one on one with his one time boss Peter Munga who will be put to task on why they increased water Tarrifs.
