Two of the Leaders who vied for Senate Position in Murang'a County that is Hon Joseph Mbai who was the Chief Officer in Murang'a County Government and Mr. Peter Njangi a Former Principal of Mutige Secondary School have challenged all the losers to concede defeat and work for Jubikee party and ensure the reelection of President Uhuru Kenyatta.
"Its very unfortunate to see the Deputy Speaker of the Senate Hon Kembi Gitura rejecting results and resigning from Jubilee party in pretense that the Primaries were marred by anomalies while he knows pretty well that he was defeated squarely by Irungu Kangata", Njangi said.
He told Journalists that he believed the Nominations was free, fair and transparent and that he conceded defeat vowing to work with winners. He castigated Hon Kembi Gitura for betraying the President who had pleaded with all losers to remain in the party and commit themselves in the party and national building promising that they would be accommodated.
He also condemned an alleged Association of Independent Candidates saying that it was a ploy by the Opposition to destabilize Jubilee Government.
On his part Joseph Mbai who garnered 14000 votes challenged Gitura to be man enough and concede."Gitura should be told that those who sent him home will also do the same in the 8/8/2017 but the only difference is that the margin will be more and more wider,' Mbai said adding that he shall Marshall all his supporters to vote for the Jubilee Nominees.
Kembi Gitura has since defected from Jubilee Party with an aim of vying as an Independent Candidate after his complaints was dismissed by the Jubilee party tribunal
